My snarky tone doesn’t mean that social media is, and should be, used for just any client. It has to be the right fit in order to be fruitful. It all starts with a sound strategy, a GREAT idea (good ideas need not apply here) and exceptional execution. And most importantly, it requires a brand that can actually benefit from social marketing. i.e. I wouldn’t recommend a Facebook / Viral campaign for your local junk yard, even with a stellar conceit, the cost versus the results would likely be a stretch.
